A new secondary school is now well underway on site with Miller Construction.
Commissioned in 2007 the practice is providing architectural and lead consultant services on this major education project, due for completion in 2009.
The part complete concrete frame is part of the package of measures designed to make the building as environmentally friendly as possible. Office Golf Event 2008
Not to be outdone by similar events at the Belfry and St.Andrews the staff at Robothams visited Warwick's premier crazy golf course for a competitive tournament in June.
The course is of international standard and it certainly challenged the experienced and novice players amongst us. A team led by Chris Ballantine triumphed and after the recriminations everyone adjourned to the New Bowling Green pub for beer and sandwiches.
ACT UK Begins on Site
A revolutionary new centre for the construction industry starts on site in September in Coventry.
The ACT UK building will house the country's only virtual building site for the training of site based management. In addition it will provide support for the industry's professional bodies and for research into the key issues effecting construction. The building itself has been designed to be a benchmark project engendering best practice in procurement, health and safety and environmental design. Diglis Water is commended in design awards.
The practice's work in Worcester for Taylor Wimpey has been officially recognised by a national design body.
The British Urban Regeneration Association (BURA) have awarded the mixed residential scheme commendations in both Design and Construction, and Strategy and Master planning sections of their annual awards. The third phase of the scheme that provides over 400 units, bars, restaurants and shops is due for completion shortly.
Robothams achieve Investors In People.
We have always valued our staff as our strongest asset, however we have now been recognised as an 'Investor In People' having worked toward it over 2007.
By focusing on the quality of our staff appraisals, our training and the way we manage our teams we believe we have created a more coherent approach to HR issues.
The Bat Box Competition.
Our commitment to the environment and learning led to an internal competition to design the Bat Box of the future, for construction on our North Leamington School scheme.
In parallel with a project being run for the pupils at the school, our team put their thinking hats on and came up with a range of innovative proposals.
King's High Arts Extension.
Due to begin on site this year, the extension to the Arts department will include spaces for fine art, drama and music, to compliment the existing facilities.
Designed to vanish into it's context the building will be constructed for completion in September 2009. Robothams have designed to achieve a high quality internal and external environment, with the especial care taken for acoustics, for both rehearsal and performance spaces.
Residential Care Home, Leamington Spa.
The practice have just obtained planning consent for a new residential care home at the site of the town's Abbacourt Hotel.
The scheme will see the majority of the existing building demolished and a state of the art home built for 53 residents. The scheme will be occupied by Methodist Homes for the Aged who will operate it for the frailest in Leamington's community.
In addition the practice has been appointed to prepare the working drawings for a Care Home operated by BUPA in Stratford Upon Avon.
Building 500, Abbey Park nears completion.
Robothams have been working closely with contractors, Weaver PLC, on this impressive design & build development for Pettifer Estates.
Due for completion in Mar 08, the project is the 2nd major office building on the former Massey Fergusson site at Stoneleigh. The design uses brick and glass to create a modern and stylist office development with generous natural light and space. The accommodation is split over two storeys and the footprint responds to the context by mirroring existing buildings.
