Commissioned under the University’s consultant framework, Robothams designed an extension to the Technology Park’s existing catering facility, adding 70 covers and an additional servery to the existing bistro. Using the curved roof form intelligently the scheme also delivered a new board room and plant space at first floor.

The extension emulates the existing palette of buff brickwork, curtain walling and curved metal clad roofs to seamlessly blend new with old and provide a coherent expansion of the existing facilities. Internally the existing bistro was refurbished so that both spaces read as a single entity, using a bold colour range and modern furniture.

The project was procured using a traditional JCT contract with Deeley Construction appointed after a competitive single stage tender. We acted as contract administrator during the construction phase.
