Avon Court is a new build care home providing 64 en-suite bedrooms and associated communal space in the heart of Stratford-upon-Avon.  The home is a 4 storey building with all bedrooms being located on the ground, first and second floors.  Each of the upper floors also incorporates a combined Lounge/Dining area overlooking the communal garden at the rear of the site but, due to its restricted nature, a large basement has also been constructed to provide additional communal space which incorporate a Restaurant, Cinema and Hair Salon.

Avon Court is located in the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon and is set within a conservation area.  As a result the building needed to be sensitively designed to ensure it was in keeping with the street scene along Scholars’ Lane whilst still providing the necessary accommodation.  The design is traditional both in its appearance and construction with the external facade largely finished with facing brickwork.  To the Scholars’ Lane elevation particular care has been taken to ensure the character of the area is enhanced by using traditional building materials and techniques such as timber framed sash windows and Flemish bond brickwork.
