Robothams were commissioned by Aston University to create a new work place for the University’s business and community engagement teams, alumni relations, development and the Chancellery and Executive offices. The new facility would have the objective of being a key part of the University’s 2030 strategy and supporting the regeneration of the city centre.

The building at 190 Corporation Street is close to the site of the grocer’s shop that John Cadbury opened at 93 Bull Street in 1824, where, among other things, he sold cocoa and drinking chocolate, which he prepared himself using a pestle and mortar.

Working with PMP, Ridge & Partners and Hoare Lea the project delivered the Cat B fit out of the building, providing work space, meeting and break out areas and social areas within 27,300 sq.ft of the historic building. The scheme also met the University’s target of accommodation being net zero carbon in use.
